  • Lopez Cristobal is family owned, and produces some fantastic and affordable wines from Ribera del Duero. As a general rule, they do not need to age once the wine are released and are very regular vintage after vintage. the Reserva is no exception, although just like the Crianza the grapes are sourced from a single parcel, called : Finca Valera. Aged 16 months in french oak and 40% in American oak, this wine offers texture, smooth tannins and complexity that has been acquired throught extended oak and bottle aging. Sweet spices, prunes, smokiness, great texture (glyceric) and stunning finish.

Exclusively produced from very old vines, this 100% Tempranillo is aged for 14 months in french and American oak. Full-bodied and complex red wines. intense, concentrated but elegant too. Although this 2015 is drinking well now, it will deserve a short cellaring time in order to make the most of it. just another year or two..

  • This top-notch wine from Bodegas Neo is produced from very old vines of Tinta del Pais (the Local name for Tempranillo). The vineyard is located in La Horra, and not many bottles are produced, less than 5000! it spends 22 month in new oak (80% french and 20% American) This will age easily for another 10/15 years, but it is so good right now that the temptation is too strong. from timt to time, we do receive some older vintages directly from the estate, so do hesitate to contact us as we might be able to impress you.     Clio is on of the most sought-after wines from Gil Estate. Avaibility is very low. we do not receive more than 20 cases per year! Big wine, yielded from monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. Highly concentrated, very new worldy. But a must try.
  • The vineyard of Matadula is located in Labastida on chalky and clayish soils. It enjoys a southern exposure, quite useful as it is one of the coolest part of la Rioja. this 100% Tempranillo wine is aged in French oak for 18 months. It is a complex with smooth tannins,smoky and packed with fruit. Great work from Finca de La Rica. Their Nomada is very interesting too!

  • San Vicente 100% Tempranillo Peludo, a clone of tempranillo. It is hard work for the viticulture as it is a lot more prone to disease and also deliver very little volume, but the wines are perfumed, elegant, concentrated. surely a great Rioja! the 18has of the Canoca vineyard was planted in 1985 by Marcos and Miguel father, and they released the first vintage in 1991. Since then San Vicente has become a reference, a totally deserved notoriety! It is perfumed, fresh and concentrated with silky tannins. Need to be decanted, 1 hour before (at least)
  • the real stuff! you thought you like Ribera del Duero... yes? Then you have to taste this wine. 100% Tempranillo aged 36 months in oak. Deeply coloured, highly concentrated, intense on the nose and the palate. This has to be decanted at least 2 hours before. or you can aged it for another 10 years. Tiny production

    Brane Cantenac is a well-known classified Margaux, owned by Pierre Lurton. The quality is back since 2000, wines a powerfull but yet elegant. Slightly modern, with elegance and finesse. Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with merlot and some Cabernet Franc. It is aged in oak for 18 months. It can be enjoyed right now, but it has the potential to age a few years in order to gain more complexity!
