Jorge Ordonez is a talented taster. Avante is the proof. Located in Pedrosa del Duero one of the most highly respected Terrroir in Ribera del Duero, Avante is sourced from a vineyards planted in 1960 and is aged 22 months in French oak. We used to have the 2011 a year ago, and the wine as mind-blowing. Now we carry the fantastic 2014 that needs another 2/3 years to show its full potential. A great bargain if you have that possibility, for less than 20 euros! I have actually bought 6 bottles myself, and I know that in just a few years I will be drinking a really fine wine. Take my words! -

Vineyards Proprietary vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Laguardia. Elaboration Traditional elaboration, 100 % de-stemmed. 6 months in tank. 6 months in American and French oak Bordelaise barrels (age of the barrels: maximum 3 wines per barrel). Tasting notes Intense ruby red. Aroma of red fruits (strawberry) in good intensity in conjunction with spice, vanilla and oak notes. On the palate it is fresh, soft, balanced, with the fruit well integrated with the notes of oak, vanilla and light toast. Drinking temperatures: 16-18 ºC -
Mourgues du Gres, southern rhone in style and price! Galets rouge is their entry level, dominated by syrah and topped up with Grenache and mourverdre (according to vintage). Unoaked but aged in concrete vat for 12 to 15 months in order to keep the fruit intensity and tame the tannins. Usually round, Mediterranean with herbs and soft acidity. Still a serious wine for a great price! -
