Produced from Grenache (50%), Syrah(40%) and 10% Cinsault planted on limestone and clay, this fine summer wine is fresh and delicate. It extract its uniqueness from the high altitude vineyards, up to 640m! something quite unbelievable in Provence. Floral, tangy, light and dangerously easy...
Avancia Godello is surely one of the greatest white from Spain! The vineyard stands high above the Sil river on slate. It is barrel fermented and aged 10 months. The oak influence is subtle, the palate is rich but the near ocean influence brings freshness. So it is complex, yet elegant and can be fully enjoyed right now or in 3/5 years. A beauty! 500 cases a produced every year.
Long ago, the town of Toro was famous for producing the finest red wine in Spain and was mentioned in the historic literature of Alfonso IX (King of León, 12th c.), Juan Ruiz the Archpriest of Hita, Quevedo, Luis de Góngora, and Miguel de Cervantes. In 14th Century Sevilla, the sale of any foreign wine was prohibited, save the wines of Toro. These wines also accompanied Spanish explorers to the New World
Jorge Ordonez is a talented taster. Avante is the proof.
Located in Pedrosa del Duero one of the most highly respected Terrroir in Ribera del Duero, Avante is sourced from a vineyards planted in 1960 and is aged 22 months in French oak. We used to have the 2011 a year ago, and the wine as mind-blowing. Now we carry the fantastic 2014 that needs another 2/3 years to show its full potential. A great bargain if you have that possibility, for less than 20 euros! I have actually bought 6 bottles myself, and I know that in just a few years I will be drinking a really fine wine. Take my words!
Located in the sleepy town of Munébrega, Bodegas Breca was founded by Jorge Ordóñez in 2010 with the mission of producing the finest Garnacha in Aragón. Garnacha de Aragón, the clone used to produce the wines of Bodegas Breca, is the most ancient and genetically untouched clone of of Garnacha (Grenache) in the world. Garnacha was first cultivated in this northeastern corner of Spain, and transplanted across the Mediterranean by the medieval Kingdom of Aragón, which had territories across the Mediterranean
Garnacha de Fuego is a quaffer. Great value for money
Bodegas Jorge Ordóñez Málaga, located in Ordóñez’s hometown, was founded in 2004. A partnership between Ordóñez and the Kracher family of Austria, the winery was founded with the goal of resuscitating the centuries long tradition of winemaking in Málaga, which was destroyed by the phylloxera plague in the 19th century. It was Jorge’s dream to champion his home region and restore it to its former glory.
This Sweet muscat is sourced from a vineyard planted in 1908, so they are all bush vines (Gobelet) which means that everything is done by hand as machine can't handle this type of training. On the top of that, inclination is highly marked, the vineyards are amongst the steepest in the world up to 70%!!! that is Huge.
A superb wine, aromatic, balanced highly concentrated in sugar. very persistent tasteand one of the longest finish you will ever experience in your whole life.
Nisia is back in shape, after one or two vintages on the funky side.
Verdejo is now the trendiest white variety in Spain, and it has been like this for the past 10 years. So we can say that people love Verdejo. what can I say, well...A lot!
It is dry, aromatic, crisp and gentle. most of the time unoaked (although some oaky version are showing well these days). It is the perfect white for anything.
Aperitif, light salads, cheeses (especially goat cheeses), mussels, sushi, week-ends, holidays...
Originally from Malaga Jorge Ordonez is one of the most important Spanish wholesalers in the united states! he started in the mid-80s.
Now he owns various wineries around the peninsula. This one is a serious project in Rias Baixas, in the sub-regions of the Salnes Valley. The grapes are sourced from 2 different vineyards one planted in 1970 and the other in 1984 on sandy soils. The interesting part of this serious white (100% Albarino) is that 25% has been barrel fermented in French oak. This add a layer of complexity such as vanilla, smokiness but without dominating the fruit intensity of the subtle albarino grape. Concentrated and elegant this wine will be brilliant with sophisticated white fish dishes or ceviche!!
I feel kind of hungry suddenly...And you?
Bagus or Galo's pride!!!
Galo being the owner...of course!
So far, this is Lopez Cristobal top wine. Exclusively produced from very old vines, this 100% Tempranillo is aged for 14 months in french and American oak.
Full-bodied and complex red wines. intense, concentrated but elegant too. Although this 2015 is drinking well now, it will deserve a short cellaring time in order to make the most of it. just another year or two..
Bodegas Neo must be the only bodegas in the world to have a professional studio. So if you fancy recording your music between wines and barrel, this is the place to go.
Anyway, this explain the name of this wine, as you understood, the owners are passionate about music.
Disco is entirely made from Tempranillo and it is aged in oak for a short time. It is an easy drinking red, uncomplicated, fun, and designed to be appreciated with friends, pizzas and music...
Lopez Cristobal is family owned, and produces some fantastic and affordable wines from Ribera del Duero. As a general rule, they do not need to age once the wine are released and are very regular vintage after vintage. the Reserva is no exception, although just like the Crianza the grapes are sourced from a single parcel, called : Finca Valera.
Aged 16 months in french oak and 40% in American oak, this wine offers texture, smooth tannins and complexity that has been acquired throught extended oak and bottle aging. Sweet spices, prunes, smokiness, great texture (glyceric) and stunning finish.
This crianza from Ribera del Duero comes from a parcel called Finca La Colorada, it is composed almost entirely from Tinta del Pais (local Tempranillo) with 5% merlot. 12 months in oak (70% French and 30% American).
Everything is done by hands, the vines a bush or Gobelet so they cannot be machine harvested. A full-bodied red, with great complexity on the nose and palate. smooth tannins with some sweet spices on the finish.
No need to be kept...
This top-notch wine from Bodegas Neo is produced from very old vines of Tinta del Pais (the Local name for Tempranillo). The vineyard is located in La Horra, and not many bottles are produced, less than 5000! it spends 22 month in new oak (80% french and 20% American)
This will age easily for another 10/15 years, but it is so good right now that the temptation is too strong.
from timt to time, we do receive some older vintages directly from the estate, so do hesitate to contact us as we might be able to impress you.
