Avancia Godello is surely one of the greatest white from Spain! The vineyard stands high above the Sil river on slate. It is barrel fermented and aged 10 months. The oak influence is subtle, the palate is rich but the near ocean influence brings freshness. So it is complex, yet elegant and can be fully enjoyed right now or in 3/5 years. A beauty! 500 cases a produced every year. -

At Mourgues du Gres, between southern Rhone and Provence, Mr Francois Collard produced some of the most unique wine in the area. He has good experience, as he was working at Chateau Lafite Rothschild, in Bordeaux, for while. Terre D'Argence white is made from a blend of viognier (old vines) some Petit Manseng and Roussanne. a small part is aged in barrel in order to add complexity without overpowering the natural aromas of this wine. It is often on wine-list in France, especially in Michelin-star restaurant as most of the wines from this family estate offer stunning value. Medium to full-bodied, gentian, gingery, peach. great glyceric texture. Balanced acidity. Superb southern wine. -
Mourgues du Gres, southern rhone in style and price! Galets rouge is their entry level, dominated by syrah and topped up with Grenache and mourverdre (according to vintage). Unoaked but aged in concrete vat for 12 to 15 months in order to keep the fruit intensity and tame the tannins. Usually round, Mediterranean with herbs and soft acidity. Still a serious wine for a great price! -

Ignacio de La Rica is a smiling man! This fairly new estate is sourcing his grape from one of the highest Village in La Rioja. An important fact, as it is a cooler area the grapes ripen slowly and keep natural acidity even though they are reaching great maturity. El Buscador is a crianza, but also a great medium bodied red, with smooth tannins god fruit concentration and perfect for drinking now! so perfect that it will put a smile on your face, just like the owner. -
Ribera del Duero is home to some great wines with stunning value! this wine is one of them. no tricks, no make up!A lovely young full-bodied red aged 9 months in oak. I open regularly a bottle a home as it evolves pretty well over 3 days, without loosing charm! I just love it. -
San Vicente 100% Tempranillo Peludo, a clone of tempranillo. It is hard work for the viticulture as it is a lot more prone to disease and also deliver very little volume, but the wines are perfumed, elegant, concentrated. surely a great Rioja! the 18has of the Canoca vineyard was planted in 1985 by Marcos and Miguel father, and they released the first vintage in 1991. Since then San Vicente has become a reference, a totally deserved notoriety! It is perfumed, fresh and concentrated with silky tannins. Need to be decanted, 1 hour before (at least) -
The vineyard of Matadula is located in Labastida on chalky and clayish soils. It enjoys a southern exposure, quite useful as it is one of the coolest part of la Rioja. this 100% Tempranillo wine is aged in French oak for 18 months. It is a complex with smooth tannins,smoky and packed with fruit. Great work from Finca de La Rica. Their Nomada is very interesting too! -

Champagne Monthuys Brut Reserve Pinot Meunier (60%) Chardonnay (40%) Good value Champagne are rare this days! this one has regularly good notoriety as the Wine Spectator gave it a 90/100 o the French Guide Hachette gave it 2 stars! it is aged 3 years in bottle before release, a fair amount of time for this fresh and easy drinking Champagne. Honeyed, with apples and critus notes. Creamy foam and quite long finish. Lovely!
