Located in the sleepy town of Munébrega, Bodegas Breca was founded by Jorge Ordóñez in 2010 with the mission of producing the finest Garnacha in Aragón. Garnacha de Aragón, the clone used to produce the wines of Bodegas Breca, is the most ancient and genetically untouched clone of of Garnacha (Grenache) in the world. Garnacha was first cultivated in this northeastern corner of Spain, and transplanted across the Mediterranean by the medieval Kingdom of Aragón, which had territories across the Mediterranean Garnacha de Fuego is a quaffer. Mourgues du Gres, southern rhone in style and price! Galets rouge is their entry level, dominated by syrah and topped up with Grenache and mourverdre (according to vintage). Unoaked but aged in concrete vat for 12 to 15 months in order to keep the fruit intensity and tame the tannins. Usually round, Mediterranean with herbs and soft acidity. Still a serious wine for a great price! -

Avancia Godello is surely one of the greatest white from Spain! The vineyard stands high above the Sil river on slate. It is barrel fermented and aged 10 months. The oak influence is subtle, the palate is rich but the near ocean influence brings freshness. So it is complex, yet elegant and can be fully enjoyed right now or in 3/5 years. A beauty! 500 cases a produced every year. -

Jorge Ordonez is a talented taster. Avante is the proof. Located in Pedrosa del Duero one of the most highly respected Terrroir in Ribera del Duero, Avante is sourced from a vineyards planted in 1960 and is aged 22 months in French oak. We used to have the 2011 a year ago, and the wine as mind-blowing. Now we carry the fantastic 2014 that needs another 2/3 years to show its full potential. A great bargain if you have that possibility, for less than 20 euros! I have actually bought 6 bottles myself, and I know that in just a few years I will be drinking a really fine wine. Take my words! -
