Jose Antonio López is a well-known Albariño‘ specialist. Trico is typical galician word indicating child that were unexpected and born when parents are already at an advanced age. Furthermore, their birth is seen as a miracle and those child end up being the pride fo the family!

Thus, Trico is obviously a different Albariño. Trico is fun but a serious project. With the aim to produce some rather top gastronomic wines. Why? well, first of all the wines are aged on the lees and release at least 1 year after their vinified. Which explain the older vintage compared to your usual albariño. Then, their complexity is just something rarely seen in the area.

Here, in Condado de Tea, Jose Antonio takes care of the vineyards. Albariño is planted on Sabrego’soil, degraded granitic soil. They usually plant cereal between the rows of vines, in order to mantain the sub-soil when rainfall occurs.
