The world of wine is an entertaining and fascinating place! It is fantastic to see that a wine region such as Beaujolais to come back in the wine industry with such good wines from different producers. The “natural” wine movement, a new generation of wine lovers and some tremendous effort from small wine-makers have achieved this revival in the last 20 years.
Jules Chauvet (died in 1989, father of natural wine-making) , a talented oenologist, taster and wine merchant has now acquired world-wide fame, and will surely join the club of the great name that have influenced the industry. (Such as Emile Peynaud, Andre Tchelistcheff, Giacomo Tachis…)
Cote du Py is definitely the best site in Morgon. Here, there is very little intervention is processed during the elaboration of this beautiful wine. (using natural yeast) and no pesticide in the vineyards.
If you have not sample this wine, well expect to get a lot for a light wine – 12%! Concentrated, fine, complex, overloaded with dark fruit (fresh and ripe). Smoky, the tannins are still young, they will allow this bottle to age another 3/5 years easily.
Home-made lasagna.
