Domaine les Bruyères (Biodynamie)
Crozes-Hermitage
Precise and talented wine-maker : David Reynaud from domaine les Bruyères in Crozes-Hermitage does not stop to impress us. Vintage after vintage and wine after wine.
Les Georges is entirely made from destemmed 20 to30 years old Syrah fermented in concrete vat. 50% of the wine is aged in French oak for 12 months (Not new oak).
The most delicious syrah from Crozes-Hermitage that we have ever tasted : supple, rich, smooth, light to medium-bodied. So approachable, juicy with silky texture everything about this bottle drive us mad. Without a doubt this is a unique style that blends tremendously the beauty of 2 different worlds (well, until now). On one hand you get that expressive and precise fruit complexity, that usually shows in modern wines that are fetching at least 14% of alcohol. But, here, on the other hand this light to medium-bodied wine (12.5%, quite a thing|) does not exhibit the usual side effects of this rather low alcohol content. As our tasting sessions revealed, several times!!! We could not detect any rusticity, gripping tannins or any signs of disturbing unbalanced acidity. Quite an achievement!
Just complexity, pleasure and pure emotion in a bottle!
We have not yet discovered David Reynaud winemaking’secret, but he is surely a great alchemist:-))
Bravo.
