We have discovered this fabulous estate, about 3 years ago! Thanks to our sommelier friend Denis Boudot;-))
Corinne and Jean-Michel Comme are taking of their small estate “Les Champs des Treilles” biodynamically (13 has). The vineyards are located on clayish soils with chalk, and they are located in Sainte-Foye de Bordeaux.
Jean Michel is also known for being the managing director of the sublime Château Pontet Canet in Pauillac.
As you have probably guessed, the production, is low as it is the avaibility. We only received 90 botlles a year!
Here, the nose is lovely! it is ripe, almost jammy with subtle green pepper aroma. Then, we can detect cacao, liquorice, plum and fresh mint! The palate is soft, rich and highly persistent. Tannins are ripe, but still youthful. It can be cellared or decanted 3 to 4 hours.
