Finca Aiguasals is a single variety wine, something not that usual, thus it is understandable why those wines are limited. Moreover 100% carignan or samso, as it is called in the area, is enjoying a certain revival and many producers are now promoting theirs as such. Compared to Garnacha, wines produced from carignan tend to offer more verticality. Or in other words, freshness, crunchyness and more color intensity.

 Dos terras Aiguasals shows great complexity and is a textbook carignan from that part of Spain. The oak treatment has been dosed wisely, as it lift the fruit complexity without overshadowing it. Tannins are still showing a bit strength, but with 40 mn in decanter the texture will be a tremendous smoother experience. The lingering finish leaves an unique savouryness mixed with mediterranean herbs.

Great with spicy Steak tartare or with a hand-made pizza wiht black olives and herbs… mouthwatering!
