El Tiznado 2021

Cuentaviñas

Eduardo Eguren

DOca Rioja

Tainted is what “Tiznado” means in Spanish, it describes the clayish-calcareous soil that has been colored by the oxidized iron present in the soil. This “earthy” particularity is highly appreciated in Burgundy as it is recognized that many Grands Crus do have a reddish soil.

This vineyard was first planted in 1923, exclusively with tempranillo (But with different clones), it is located in San Vicente de La Sonsierra.

Aged 18 Months in 228 Liters barrel (Burgundian).
