Chaupin from the great estate domaine de la Janasse is a tremendous rendition of old vines grenache, some of them planted in 1912!!! Tasted several times this winter and deception was never part of the equation. Quality is garanteed.
Smoky, crush raspberries and dried rose petals on the nose. With just a few years in bottle it has already a lot to offer and it is highly palatable. Elegant, even though full-bodied, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from sandy parcels which probably the tamed tannins. Rich, intense but a true fine wine!
Here, the oak treatment is sutle. Mainly big containers in order to keep it away from the front stage. 12 months.
A bottle to enjoy with friends, but limit them if you only have a single bottle. You won’t be able to repeat!
