Cuentaviñas represents the 5th generation of Sierra Cantabria, Eduardo Eguren and his wine Carlota Gonzalez have iniciated this winery in the very epicenter of quality wines within la Rioja : San Vicente de La Sonsierra.

Well guessed! El Septeno is their seventh cuvée. They loved the idea to named their 7th creation as such, a mistical and magical number. To us it recalls the lyrics of a classic blues theme : Hoochie Coochie man.

Enitrely elaborated from tempranillo grown in the well-known parcel of La Canoca, similar to Eduardo’s father bottling San Vicente. Here, the atlantic influence is moderated by the local moutain chain called Sierra cantabria.

Uncrushed berries are allowed to ferment for 96 days in order to achieve a subtle extracttion from the skins, then El Septeno is aged 12-16 months in French oak of different sizes, although the smallest ones have a capicity of 500 liters. Thus minimizing the uptake of flavoring compounds from the oak treatment.
