Domaine de la Janasse
More of a northern rhône variety, that actually gained “Cult” Status in the 90’s. Many producers agree that it is a difficult one to grow and especially to harvest. Viognier is well-known to loose acidity rapidly when it reaches maturity.
Sometimes the aromatic complexity of viognier can recall some wines produced with Albariño, but usually the acidity is much lower. Thus, the wine shows a much creamier and rounder palate.
40% of the wine has been aged in oak, in order to give extra complexity. As a result, it is a great wine for the aperitif or to combine with creamy cheeses such as Brie or Camembert.
