Côte Rôtie ,dramatic and fascinating landscape, quite extreme if you were thinking working there! as you will find some of the steepest vineyards in Europe, others can be found in Mosel-saar-Ruwer in Germany or Ribeira Sacra in Spain.
Homeland of the superb Syrah grape, planted on schist and producing some fine and elegant wines.
This Côte Rôtie or Roasted Slopes, is a textbook syrah from the northern Rhône : Elegant, complex, spicy with some black olives and violets notes. The tannins are still gripping, as this wine is still very young, so decanting it would be a great idea.
