DOQ Priorat
Sergi Ferrer Salat (also Owner of a fine wine bar in Barcelona called Mon Vinic) and Raul Bobet (co-owner of Castell d’Encus) are joining force in this extraordinary venture.
Located in Porrera, between Gratallops and Falset, this place enjoy a special and cooler micro-climate than other villages within Priorat. Here, the priority is freshness! Yes quite a contradiction for such warm land (mediterranean climate), dry soil (Licorella/slate) and where garnacha thrives. So, it is why Ferrer-Bobet focus especially on the cooler sites of Porrera and on Cariñena (carignan or Samso). Interesting, as Carignan mature slowly and always keep a fair amount of acidity, an important factor as it is usually what Garnacha lacks.
A surprising and tremendously fresh Priorat, (Cariñena 66%, Garnacha negra 16%, Syrah 13% ,Cabernet Sauvignon 5%), intense, concentrated with ripe (but not cooked) darf fruit notes.
It is aged 12 months in French oak, with 60% new.
