Description

Castell d’Encus Jhana

Merlot, Petit Verdot

This unusual project, Castell d’Encus, located in the northern part of Costers del Segre, is fascinating.

The great Raul Bobet has worked, talked or seen some of the most important figures in the wine industry. By that, I mean tremendous names such as Andre Tchelistcheff, Emile Peynaud or Giacomo Tachis! quite an honor.

Most of the vines are 1000 m. high (above sea level), and all the wines are fermented with their wild yeasts. Which makes interesting wines, less impressive aromatically, but with a much more personal complexity.

The idea behind this wine is to develop a fine rosé wine. Quite a concept, if you take 2 minutes and think of it. Do you know any rosé that are able to age? well… That is the kind of Challenge that Raul is searching.

Anyway, Jhana is a delicious rosé. That has some oak influence and complexity. Cherry and raspberry notes, clean and dry.
